Do you remember the first time you went into a record store and bought a record?  We talked about this a few years ago when our friend Kent Kotal did a feature on his Forgotten Hits site.  It is an interesting subject and it would be fun to hear a few local stories on the subject.   If you would like to tell your story, you can drop us a comment.  We might even play a few on a future episode of Those Were The Days.

I had a lot of 45’s to play before I ever bought one.  My uncle Ed owned a supper club and my sister and I got the jukebox throw aways.  My cousins gave us a few old 33’s including the first Rolling Stones Greatest Hits album.  I bought ‘Have You Seen Her’ by the Chi-Lites in late 1971 and as I recall that was my first of thousands!  In the next few months I purchased the latest Donny Osmond,  Neil Diamond, Carpenters,  Raspberries,  Looking Glass,  and Gallery records.  It is fun to recall those days of seeing all of the latest albums on display behind the washers and dryers at Saffells in Richland Center!

I hope to hear your stories.  Thanks again for listening to Those Were The Days Saturday nights on WRCO FM 100.9.
