Richland County Zoning & Land Information, alongside the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, is reviewing and updating the county’s Geographic Information System (GIS) address data, which has not been comprehensively aligned for many years. This process may lead to address change notices for some residents, including those in the City of Richland Center and surrounding villages.

The project is necessary to ensure the county data properly aligns with established mapping systems and meets current Next Generation 911 (NG911) standards set by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).

Additionally, the improved accuracy will benefit GPS systems, online mapping services, and applications such as Google Maps.
