RICHLAND CENTER, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) The “Santa’s Regret” Dessert Skillet. It’s a 2:30 AM Hillbilly Masterpiece.
Ingredients:
*1 cup chocolate chips (or any candy you’ve been hiding from yourself in the pantry for months)
*1/2 cup mini marshmallows (or the giant ones you chopped up with a butter knife like a mad scientist)
*1/2 cup crushed cookies or cereal (bonus points for Oreos, Cornflakes, or anything that sounds crunchy at 2:30 AM)
*2 tablespoons butter (or bacon grease if you’re feeling rebellious)
*A drizzle of peanut butter or caramel (optional, but highly recommended for dramatic effect)
Instructions (With Maximum Chaos and Flair):
Summon the skillet.
Place it on medium heat and let it warm while whispering to it: “Please don’t stick. Please behave.” If it hisses, that’s just excitement.
Melt the butter.
Let it bubble, dance, and coat the bottom like a tiny golden lake. Pretend you’re a wizard performing a magical spell.
Introduce the chocolate chips.
Toss them in. Hear them sizzle and start melting. Watch them liquefy into a gooey river of pure sugar chaos.
Add marshmallows.
Stir gently at first, then aggressively when they start clumping together. If they stick to your spatula, consider it a sticky victory trophy.
Incorporate crushed cookies or cereal.
Pour them in like confetti at a chaotic parade. Stir just enough to combine—but leave some peaks for crunch. This is texture theater.
Drizzle peanut butter or caramel.
Do not measure. Do not hesitate. Drizzle like a confetti cannon at a sugar-themed wedding. Watch your creation become ridiculously indulgent.
Final skillet inspection.
Smell it. Smile. If chocolate strings are clinging to the sides, that’s normal. That’s tradition.
Serve immediately.
Grab a spoon, or just eat straight from the skillet like a true midnight renegade. Napkins are useless. Plates are optional. Regret is forbidden.
Optional Extras for Maximum Chaos:
*Throw in a few crushed peppermint candies if it’s December.
*Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or a dash of cayenne for “holiday surprise.”
*Top with a mini marshmallow snowman if you’re feeling dramatic.
