
SPRING GREEN, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) River Valley held on for a hard fought 61-50 boys basketball win over Reedsburg on Tueday night.
The Blackhawks never trailed in the non-conference contest and were up by 19 points at one point. The Beavers made a big push in the 2nd half and got within 3 points with a little over 5 minutes left. River Valley responded with key shots and free throws to seal the win an improve to 3-2 on the season. Reedsburg fell to 1-3.
The Blackhawks were led in scoring by Sumner Nachreiner with 16, Lucas Klein made 3 three pointers and finished with 13, Quincy Blakely added 12 points including 3 free throws late in the game, Keagan Heiser and Jackson Thatcher each had 7 points, Trevor Henkel and Kaden Plumley each totaled 2 points. River Valley made 6 three pointers all in the first half and they went 11 for 18 from the line.Reedsburg was led by Jonah Williams who made 6 three pointers and ended with 19 points, Lincoln Benish and Drew Brandt both made 10 points. The Beavers made 9 three pointers and went 5 for 10 from the free throw line.
The Beavers won the JV game 61-45 over River Valley in the JV 1 game.Following the 61-50 Varsity win, River Valley will get ready to return to SWC play with a home game Thurday against Dodgeville. Reedsburg will return to league action with a Thursday night trip to Fort Atkinson.
