RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WRCO) – One bite and you’ll be yelling, Y’all, why didn’t we do this sooner?
Hillbilly Pizza Dawgs
(Because sometimes your stomach can’t decide between pizza and a hot dog so it just takes both.)
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs — whatever kind you can find in the back of the fridge or sneaky store run.
4 hot dog buns — slightly squished adds character.
1 can (14 oz) pizza sauce — or whatever tomato stuff you’ve got lying around.
1/4 cup mini pepperoni — tear the big ones into “bite-size hillbilly coins.
1/4 cup garlic butter — because everything’s better with butter and garlic. Fight me.
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese — the gooey glue that holds your dignity together.
Directions:
Slather the buns with garlic butter like you’re painting the neighbor’s mailbox in a hurry. Don’t be stingy — this is serious business.
Drop in the hot dogs. Hug them like you’ve been apart for years.
Spoon on pizza sauce like it’s lava and you’re a mad scientist. Spill a little; it adds flavor points.
Sprinkle the cheese and pepperoni like confetti at a parade. Extra cheese = instant applause from your taste buds.
Bake at 375°F for 5–10 minutes or until the cheese melts, the buns toast, and everyone in the house suddenly smells dinner and shows up early.
Serving Tips:
Eat with a fork if you want to pretend you’re classy. Otherwise, fingers work fine.
Goes perfect with soda, sweet tea, or pretending you’re at a football tailgate even if it’s midweek.
Hillbilly Sayings:
If it’s gooey and cheesy, it counts as a gourmet meal.
These are better than a pizza, cheaper than takeout, and twice as dangerous for your diet.
Warning: May cause uncontrollable licking of fingers and happy noises.
One bite and you’ll be yelling, Y’all, why didn’t we do this sooner?
