Because nothing good ever happens after midnight – Its Cooking with Hank
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WRCO) – Time to see what’s cooking. Here is Hank’s mouth-watering (maybe) recipe.
Grease Lightning Surprise
Because nothing good ever happens after midnight except this greasy stroke of genius.
Ingredients:
1 slice of bologna (or two if your paycheck cleared before midnight)
1 leftover biscuit — or a slice of white bread folded like a taco of shame
3 pickle slices (bonus points if they’re from a gas station jar)
A heroic squirt of ranch, ketchup, or both — we call that “Hillbilly Thousand Island”
A handful of shredded cheese — preferably in one cold, rubbery clump
Optional: crushed pork rinds for that crunchy fine-dining experience
Instructions:
Fire up your skillet until the smoke alarm starts asking questions.
Fry that bologna till it bubbles up like a redneck airbag — give it a good “pop!” That’s your Michelin star moment.
Stack it on your biscuit (or bread-taco), slap on that Hillbilly Thousand Island, and drop the cheese on top like it owes you money.
Microwave it till it hisses like a possum under the porch.
Add your pickles and pork rinds, then take a step back to admire your creation — it’s not pretty, but neither are most legends.
Eat it proudly, standing over the sink in your pajama pants, whispering, “I am the flavor.
Serving suggestion:
Pairs beautifully with a cup of cold instant coffee, a side of deep regret, and the unshakable belief that breakfast starts whenever you say it does.
