The year of 1967 has always been a favorite music year for me.  This week on Those Were The Days we will play a few of those AM radio classics from the last few weeks of the Summer Of Love.   The song ‘Light My Fire’ by the Doors had recently hit number one and the group would make a memorable appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in the fall of 1967.  Bobby Vee was having a comeback hit with ‘Come Back When You Grow Up’,  The Beatles were proclaiming “All You Need Is Love”,  and the Monkees were singing about a ‘Pleasant Valley Sunday’ during the first weekend of September in 1967.  Another reason that I am so fond of 1967 is that my wife June was born that year, however, don’t tell her I told you so.  The song ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ by Van Morrison has always reminded me of her.  That was a big radio song this weekend 45 years ago.

On Those Were The Days this Saturday night you can enjoy 6 hours of great radio memories.  Call us with your requests, play trivia, and win a prize donated by one of our sponsors.
