
Hornet Softball secured a the SWC title for the first time since 1996 with Thursday victory
The Richland Center softball team defeated Prairie du Chien 1-0 on Thursday night at home.
With the win, the Hornets secured a the SWC title for the first time since 1996. Kyree Fischer pitched a 1 hitter. Abagail Williams stepped up with another big at bat as she stroked an inside the park home run for the games only score.
The Hornets managed just 3 hits in the victory.
The team is now 7-2 with one more conference game tonight at Platteville. The WIAA seeding meeting for softball teams will be Sunday with the tournament set to begin for a few teams as early as Thursday May 21st.
