Oshkosh Man Sentenced for Convenience Store Robbery

WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- An Oshkosh man was recently sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for the robbery of a Kwik Trip Store in Oshkosh.

Fifty-nine-year-old Lorenzo Wood, Jr. was sentenced last Wednesday for robbery and felon in possession of a firearm charges. According to court documents the robbery occurred last October 13th at the Kwik Trip located off Interstate 41 on Jackson Street.

Wood walked into the store shortly after midnight carrying a revolver. He pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk gave him $170 and Wood left in an SUV.

Law enforcement was able to identify Wood and his vehicle through video on store surveillance cameras. The revolver was recovered during a search of his residence.

During Wood’s sentencing U.S. District Judge Byron B. Conway noted Wood had spent much of his adult life in an out of state prison for similar convenience store robberies. Following his release from prison Wood will be placed on extended supervision for 5 years.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
