Rehearsals for the Community Player’s spring show “Snow White” is currently underway. “Snow White” will showcase the talents of thirty actors and actresses, including tweens, teens and adults. The cast is rehearsing nearly every weeknight evening under the guidance of Director Dave Timm and Assistant Director Matt Roh. Included in the cast are Community Players veterans, such as Liz Niemeyer, Duane Rose and Stella Woodhouse, along with kids who have never been in a show before.
In this adaptation of the classic fairy tale by Tim Kelly, Snow White becomes the envy of the evil Queen. The Queen sends Snow White into the forest to die, but the Huntsman spares her life and Snow White escapes. An Enchanted Vixen leads her to the home of Seven Dwarves. When the Queen learns that Snow White is still alive, the Queen disguises herself and brings Snow White a poisoned apple. Can the Prince save Snow White? Will the evil Queen win in the end?
Other characters include the Walking Talking Magic Mirror and the Palace Cat, along with two of the Evil Queen’s alter egos; Esmarelda and The Old Crone. The woods are also full of forest creatures, including squirrels, songbirds, nightingales, owls and weasels. While not a musical, there will be some songs sung by cast members.
