RV boys fall to Wis Dells

Wisconsin Dells picked up a road win over River Valley 53-42 in area boys basketball Monday night. The Chiefs aggressive defense kept the Blackhawks off balance. River Valley did not score a field goal in the game until just over 6 minutes left in the first half. It was 24-16 at halftime in favor of the Dells. The Hawks got within 44-40 with around 5 minutes to play before the Cheifs went on a 9-0 run and improved to 5-7 on the season.  River Valley fell to 7-6 with the loss.

The Chiefs were led in scoring by Boyd Witt with 17, while Carter Syverson added 12.  Witt made three 3 pointers, and Syverson had 2.  The team shot 3 for 8 from the foul line.

Jackson Thatcher led River Valley in scoring with 12 including the teams two three point baskets, Lucas Klein added 8, Keagan Heiser scored 6, whileTrevor Henkel, Kaden Plumley, and Bryce Ferguson all had 4 points, while Sumner Nachreiner had 2 points. The Blackhawks were 8 for 12 from the line.

In the JV 1 game, Wisconsin Dells was a winner in a close game 51-47 over the Hawks.

Following the 53-42 Varsity win, the Chiefs will prepare to return to conference play with a game against Adams Friendship Thursday night. River Valley will get back to the SWC on Friday at home against Lancaster.
