
ITHACA, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE_ River Valley won a girls basketball game over Ithaca on Monday night 61-47. It was a tale of 2 halves. The Blackhawks got off to a quick start against a cold shooting Bulldogs squad when they jumped to a 33-13 halftime lead. Trailing by 26 in the 2nd half, Ithaca began a comeback that got them to within 9 with under 4 minutes to play. River Valley was able to get back to a more comfortable lead with key baskets and free throws.
The Blackhawks improved to 5-2 on the season. They were led by Brooklyn Stokes with 20 points including 2 three pointers. Brooklyn White added 17, and Ella Myers totaled 13. Kalia Blakely scored 5, Rosie Spahn had 4 points, and Bella DeViney scored 2 points. River Valley was 15 of 24 from the free throw line.
Kelsea Coleman led Ithaca with 15, while Jacey Maxwell totaled 14, Maylee Pluemer had 8, while Brooklyn Dickey and Faith Studnicka each had 5 points. The Bulldogs made 5 three pointers with Coleman making 3 of them. The team was 13 for 17 from the line.
Following the 61-47 win, River Valley will prepare for a conference matchup with Lancaster on Thursday. Ithaca is now 2-6 and they will play a Ridge and Valley conference game tonight against Wauzeka-Steuben.
