
MUSCODA, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) – The Ithaca boys basketball team won a non-conference battle against Riverdale 67-52 on Thursday night. The visiting Bulldogs jumped to a 12 point lead (40-28) at halftime and maintained the lead despite a comeback by the Chieftains that pulled them to within 4 points (44-40) in the second half.
Bulldog Senior Devin Ihm led all scorers with 27 points, Cody Byrnes scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half for Ithaca when he came off the bench to hit three 3 pointers. Hewston Boland added 11 points, Caden Keller had 8, and Eathan Birkrem and Sam Jones each had 4 points. Ithaca struggled at the free throw line making 8 of 23 attempts.
Riverdale was paced by Junior Bevyn Dennis who had 17 including 3 three pointers, Owen Blankenship scored 14, Henry Drone totaled 11, Enerel Gantugla totaled 8, and Landon Kinyon hit two free throws. The Chieftains were 6 for 10 from the line.
The Bulldogs won the jv game 60-48 over Riverdale.
Following the 67-52 varsity win, Ithaca is now 2-1 and will play again tonight when they host Wonewoc-Center for parents’ night. Riverdale, at 0-3, will play at North Crawford tonight.
