
Brooklyn Stokes scores 12 and RV GBB takes a 30-point win over Potosi/Cassville
SPRING GREEN, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – The River Valley girls basketball team won its second game of the week with Thursday nights
69-39 victory against visiting Potosi/Cassville.
The Blackhawks led by 11 at halftime and continued in the 2nd half with an aggressive defense that led to lots of steals and fast break baskets. Four players scored in double figures and a fifth player added 9. River Valley also was 15 of 21 from the free throw line which helped build the 30-point lead at the end of the night.
The Blackhawks scoring was led by Brooklyn Stokes with 12, Brooklyn White and Bella DeViney each had 11 points, and Ella Myers totaled 10, and freshman Rosie Spahn added 9. Other scoring came from Kalia Blakley with 7, Heidi Hegland put in 4, Elizabeth Gostomski had a 3 pointer, and Hannah Burchfield scored a 2-point basket.
Potosi/Cassville is now 1-1 on the season after the loss. They were led in scoring by Lillie Cooley with 15, and Emma Uppena scored 13. The team was 11 for 20 from the free throw line.
Following the 69-39 win, River Valley will now prepare for a trip to Arygle to play Pecatonica/Argyle on Tuesday night.
Potosi/Cassville will not play again until December 2nd when they take on Highland.
