APPLETON, Wis. (WISS) – A familiar name in Fox Valley politics is running for Wisconsin’s Senate District 19. On Friday, Nov. 7, Democrat Emily Tseffos announced her intentions to run against incumbent Rachael Cabral-Guevara.
“ It kind of feels like the next chapter of what we’ve already been doing, showing up, helping people where we can. And proving that regular people can still make a big difference,” Tseffos told a group of supporters. “We can still make things happen, especially when we stop waiting for someone else to fix it.”
Tseffos is very active in Fox Valley politics, acting as chair of the Outagamie County Democrats and organizing many political movements.
“ Fighting the entrenched and the powerful takes a lot of grit, patience, and faith. And behind every headline and every policy and all the inflammatory rhetoric, there are real people, families, sisters, brothers, kids that live with the consequences of those choices,” she said. “That is what drives me, and that is why I’m running.”
Most recently, she organized a food drive to help bridge the gap when SNAP benefits were delayed due to the federal government shutdown.
Emily Tseffos also ran for Assembly District 56 in 2024 but lost to Republican David Murphy.
In 2026, the odd-numbered Senate Districts in Wisconsin are up for election. Senate District 19 includes all of the Assembly Districts 55, 56, and 57. It consists of all of Waushara County and parts of Winnebago, Outagamie, Waupaca, Adams, and Portage Counties.
