
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The Richland Center high school volleyball team swept Prairie Chien on the opening night of Southwest Conference play. The scores were 25-15, 25-6, and 25-20 during family night for the Hornets at the Richland Center High School Fieldhouse. Senior Danica Pauls led the way with 4 kills in the opening set and a match high 11. Freshman Adelyn Wertz had 7 kills and sophomore Ella Clements had 3 kills in the opening set as Richland Center set the tone. Junior Ellavy Weiss had 4 kills in the 2nd set.
The Richland Center JV 1 and JV 2 teams also scored wins over the visiting Blackhawks.
Following the 3 set sweep, Richland Center will prepare to host its own invitational on Saturday. Saturday It will get underway at 8:30am and feature a stacked lineup of talented teams including Black Hawk, Cuba City, Edgewood, Fennimore, Hillsboro, Iowa-Grant, Ithaca, Lancaster, Luther, Reedsburg, and Royall.
In other conference matches on Thursday night, Platteville was a 3 sets to 1 winner over River Valley and Lancaster swept Dodgeville.
