Holy Cross St. Barnabas Parish will hold an estate sale Thursday, June 26, from 8:00a to 6:00p, Friday, June  27, from 8:00a to 5:00p, and Saturday, June 28, from 8:00a to noon.

Join the Aldo Leopold Nature Center (ALNC) for an evening of children’s music with David Landau and dinner from Ugly Apple Food Cart Thursday, June 26. David Landau is dedicated to sparking joy, fostering creativity, and instilling a love of music in children through his entertaining and educational performances. Bring your own picnic dinner or purchase a meal from the Ugly Apple Food Cart. Ugly Apple sources its produce from local farmers’ overstock and seconds, minimizing food waste and creating delicious meals. This event is free and open to the public. Food from Ugly Apple will be available for purchase starting at 5:30p, and David Landau will begin his performance at 6:00p. Park Street Christian Church will have a Rummage Sale to further its Stained Glass Window Fund Friday, June 27, from 9:00a to 6:00p and Saturday, June 28, 9:00a to 1:00p.

A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Friday, June 27, from 9:30 to 1:30 at the Wonewoc Public Library. Appointments are preferred by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or go online to redcrossblood.org.

Adventureland – Wonderful World of Plants, for youth 5K-6th grade, sponsored by Richland County 4-H, will be held Friday, June 27, from 10:30a until Noon at the Brewer Public Library. The hands-on, nature-loving class, will journey through the world of plants and uncover how plants eat, breathe, move, and communicate with each other.

Saturday, June 28

Ocooch Mountain Humane Society will host a brat stand at Walsh’s Ace Hardware Saturday, June 28, from 9:00a to 1:00p.

Explore Phoebe Point Trail and learn how to forage with Kitchen Gardener, Abbie Lehman, Saturday, June 28, from 9:30a to 12:30p. This class will begin by discussing foraging basics at the base of the trail. Then, participants will embark on a moderate 1.1 mile loop through Phoebe Point to put their new knowledge to the test, identifying common summer wild edibles along the way. By the end of this course, you will learn why you should forage, where you can forage, how to forage safely and responsibly, as well as key identification techniques and common plant families. The Ocooch Mountain Humane Society’s Happy Trails Dog Walk will be held Saturday, June 28, from 10:00a to 2:00p. This free event will be held at the Woodman Happy Tails Dog Park in Richland Center. Dog Trainer Dave Barron will also be on hand for questions. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The River Valley Area Community Gardens will host an Ice Cream Stand at the Spring Green Arts & Crafts Fair Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and June 29. Look for them across from the Lions’ Brat Stand at the intersection of Jefferson and Lexington Streets.

Thunderfest, an all-day Independence Celebration at Krouskop Park in Richland Center, will be held Saturday, June 28. The Kid’s Zone opens at 11:00a with a bungy jump, bounce houses, pony rides, magician, and more. The Kid’s Zone has an admission cost. Live music will begin at Noon. This year’s performers include Kelly Long, The Jammers, Annie & the Crush, 3 Souls Band, Omega Project, and High Mileage.

A Euchre Tournament, sponsored by the Richland Center Parks & Rec Department will be held Saturday, June 28, at the Woodman Senior Center. Registration will begin at 12:30. Play begins at 1:00p. The entry fee is $6.

Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts will celebrate community with a gala auction featuring art and experiences Saturday, June 28, from 4:00p to 6:00p. Attendees will gather on the Green for a live and silent auction with pieces by local artists and the Shake Rag Alley community. Additional work will include etchings by Salvador Dalí, Albrecht Dürer, Kenneth Reeve, Susan Hunt-Wulkowicz, lithography by Pedro Puerta, a Graciela Rodo Boulanger print, and objects including unique metalwork, a Victorian crazy quilt, and Bohemian garnet jewelry. Live music will be provided by Driftless Standard Time. The auction furthers Shake Rag Alley’s mission to provide educational experiences in visual, performing, and literary arts for adults and children; cultivate the creativity that thrives in our rural community; and rehabilitate and preserve our historic buildings and rustic campus. Tickets are $25, and available to purchase at ShakeRagAlley.org.

Sunday, June 29

The Cazenovia Area Dairy Breakfast, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus 8946, will be held Sunday, June 29, from 7:00a to Noon at St. Anthony’s School. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 6.

A 4-H and FFA Livestock Clinic will be held Sunday, June 29, at 9:00a at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

Willow Valley will be moving the location and time of its normal Sunday service on June 29 to The Willows, the restored A.D. German house on German Lane one mile south of Ithaca. The service will be held at 11:00a, with a potluck lunch to follow to celebrate and help send off Pastor Diana on her last Sunday with Willow Valley.
