River Valley comes from behind to defeat RC in baseball
SPRING GREEN, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – River Valley came from behind to defeat Richland Center 6-5 Friday night. The visiting Hornets led 5-1 at one point in the game. The Blackhawks scored two runs in the sixth inning, and three in the seventh to win in exciting fashion.
Wes Bosworth singled three times and walked. He drove in two runs for the Hornets. Isaac Gald had two hits. Jacob McDonnell doubled and scored twice. Wyatt Banker pitched nearly six innings before Deakin Heisz came on in relief.
Keagan Heiser pitched the first five innings before Clyde Samples pitched the last two innings to log the win. Chayse Gilbertson singled in a run in the sixth inning and Jordan Gauger added a RBI fielder’s choice. In the seventh, Kaden Plumley hit a rbi single scoring Keagan Heiser and Drew Riedel scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. With the potential winning run at third base, River Valleys’ Griffin Sprecher laid down a bunt that pushed across Plumley with the sixth run.
With the 6-5 win, River Valley is now 1-6 in the league, and 2-12 overall. With the loss, Richland Center is now 5-8, and 3-3 in the league.
