
Racine Man Arrested After Being Shot by Police During Armed Home Invasion
RACINE, Wis. – (WRJN) – A 42-year-old man was arrested following an officer-involved shooting in Racine on Tuesday night. Police say it happened during an armed home invasion at a home near Marquette and Hamilton.
A statement says RPD responded to the scene just before 6 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Officers entered the home upon hearing additional shots from inside and engaged the suspect, resulting in a shootout. The man was injured and taken into custody. No other injuries were reported, with investigators saying several children and adults were in the home during the incident.
The involved officers have been placed on administrative leave. The Kenosha-Racine Area Investigative Team (KRAIT) will handle the shooting investigation, with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office leading the probe. Racine police continue to investigate the home invasion itself.
