The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will host a Winter Festival Saturday, January 11, beginning at 10:00. The family event highlights outdoor winter activities, including sledding, skiing, snow sculpture, ice hikes, wildlife talks and hikes, face painting, horse-drawn bobsled rides, snowshoe exhibit, and sled dog demonstrations. The La Farge Lions will also host a Chili and Bread Contest Bring your child and your dog and try out the Mutt Fun dogsled run. Conquer the snow mountain and snow tunnel. Test your skills at the Traditional Snow Snake Competition or Smoosh Races. Night winter activities can include star gazing and candlelight snowshoe hike. Admission to the Winter Festival is free and open to the public. Friendly dogs are welcome on leash. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
A Torchlit Hike, Showshoe, or Ski at Wildcat Mountain State Park will be held Saturday, January 11, from 5:00 to 9:00. The evening will also include a campfire, refreshments, and a stargazing activity hosted by John Heasley of Driftless Stargazing, LLC, weather permitting. A vehicle sticker is required to enter the park.
The Richland Center Knights of Columbus Council 3492 will be holding bingo Saturday, January 11 at the Richland Center Community Center starting at 6:30. The progressive jackpot will be $1,259 + 50% of net sales in 51 calls or less.
