
Republican Joy Goeben wins 5th Assembly District
The 5th Assembly District covers the area between Appleton and Green Bay.
WISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Joy Goeben has been called the winner of the race for the 5th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.
The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered very likely Republican with a projected margin of 28 points.
Goeben was first elected to the Assembly in 2022. Goeben is an elementary school teacher in Ashwaubenon and is a former child care center owner. She serves on four committees and is also on the Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking.
Goeben defeated Democratic challenger Greg Sampson, who ran a grassroots campaign out of his home in Little Chute.
The 5th Assembly District covers the area between Appleton and Green Bay.
