This Saturday night on Those Were the Days, I will be asking the poll question…Can you recall the best rock and roll concert that you have ever attended? This idea was submitted to me by one of our loyal listeners. Hopefully this will jog memories of a music event that moved you or changed your life. My first concerts included Loverboy opening for Kansas, Livingston Taylor and Air Supply, Quarterflash and Rick Springfield, and Wendy O. Williams with the Plasmatics opening for Kiss. My favorite though, might be a more intimate show in Dubuque, Iowa featuring Mike Smith. He was the lead singer for the Dave Clark Five. Since I have always been a big fan of their songs, that 2003 show has always stuck with me. I had the chance to interview him before that performance. He was injured at his home a few months after that, and he died a few years later. Seeing the Who play in 1989 at Alpine Valley was another amazing show. I hope to hear from you during Those Were the Days on WRCO FM 100.9, WRCO.com, or on the Civic Media app. If you would like to submit your memories in advance, you can always email me at [email protected].

Our six hour show Saturday night will feature live requests, trivia, and all kinds of fun. A shout out to our last weeks listeners that kept me posted on the Northern Lights. There were some quality requests submitted to the program. Great job everyone.

Phil
