Spring was on the way at the old Willow Valley farm during the last year of the sixties. Dad was busy getting ready to go to the tractor shed preparing equipment for planting season. Little Phil was getting ready for his imaginary farm with his imaginary friend Farmer Jolly. I had lots of special make believe friends. The scary thing is that I still remember all of their names, I just don’t play with them as much. Many of the songs on the radio in March of 1969 are still on the radio today! Some of my favorites are, Build Me Up Buttercup-Foundations, Touch Me-Doors, Everyday People-Sly and the Family Stone, Proud Mary-CCR, Dizzy-Tommy Roe, You Showed Me-Turtles, Things I’d Like to Say-New Colony Six, Ramblin Gamblin Man-Bob Seger System, Brother Loves Traveling Salvation Show-Neil Diamond, and Crimson and Clover-Tommy James.

After several weeks of high school sports delaying our start, we will be back with a full 6 hour show on WRCO Saturday night. Those Were the Days will be live for your requests and the trivia games will be on! Give us a call or drop a line with your songs and memories. Listen live on WRCO FM 109.9, wrco.com, or the Civic Media app.
