This week on the Saturday night program, Those Were the Days, we will be flying back to December of 1976.  It was wintertime on the farm and that meant that chores were even more difficult.  The one thing that got me through many hours in the cold, was the barn radio. It was always on, and I remember vividly hearing Night Moves by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullett band for the first time.  Rubber band Man by the Spinners played regularly, and Leo Sayer made us feel like Dancing.  There was a brand-new group called Boston and they were just starting to get airplay with a song called More Than a Feeling.  Life turns and here we are 47 years later, and I am in where it is warm playing the songs of my youth. During the six-hour tribute to the first forty years of rock and roll music, WRCO will stop and park in 1976 Saturday night. I hope you will help me program the show. The songs of my youth make me all warm inside and take me back to December of 1976.  My dad bought me a new Panasonic Stereo with turntable, AM/FM radio, and cassette player/recorder that Christmas. I began making serious mix tapes right away.  I had a microphone so that I could pretend to be a d.j.  I am still pretending after all of these years.  I hope you will hook up with Those Were the Days on WRCO FM 100.9, WRCO.com, or on the Civic Media app. on Saturday night.
