Spring Back To 1961

Hey rock n' rollers!  This Saturday night on WRCO FM 100.9 and dot com we will welcome spring with a few classic tunes.  There are many that talk about the season and still others that were popular in the the spring time.  We will also check out the hot 45's from this weekend in 1961.  That was an innocent time for popular music.  Some of my favorites from this weekend in '61 include:  Runaway-Del Shannon,  Shop Around-Miracles,  Pony Time-Chubby Checker,  Walk Right Back-Everly Brothers,  Calender Girl-Neil Sedaka,  More Than I Can Say-Bobby Vee,  One Hundred Pounds Of Clay-Gene McDaniels,  and (I Wanna) Love My Life Away-Gene Pitney.   Even though these songs are sixty years old,  they still sound so good on the radio.  There is so much energy in the grooves of those little records.

Join our Those Were The Days solid gold dance troupe on WRCO Saturday night between six and midnight.  I will again be studying this week to find the best trivia questions.  Perhaps you will win a prize from our long time sponsors when you solve the trivia puzzles. Help us welcome in the new season.  I hope that you will give me a call Saturday night on the request line (608) 647-4155.  You can also drop me a line through this blog or send me an email This email address is being protected from spambots.
