November 1976 Far Out Hits

During Saturday nights' Those Were the Days, I will be spinning some tunes that will take us back to the last days of 8-track tapes, Farrah Fawcett-Major's posters,  cb radios,  leisure suits,  and far out hits.  In 1976 I was trying to take in ever bit of pop culture that I could and there were many late nights.  I would watch tv, listen to the radio, and do homework at the same time.  That was multi tasking before there was such a thing.   My favorite tv shows from that era include:  Sha-Na-Na (remember that program?  I wish it was on home video),  Captain & Tennille,  Happy Days,  Laverne & Shirley,  Tony Orlando & Dawn,  M*A*S*H*,  Alice,  The Jacksons,  Welcome Back Kotter, Chico & the Man,  and Bob Newhart.   It was hard to get my chores done fast enough so that I could plop in front of the Curtis Mathes television set.  The radio was always providing me with three minute escapes.  Some of my fave radio hits in November of 1976 include:  More Than A Feeling-Boston,  Magic Man-Heart,  A Dose Of Rock and Roll-Ringo Starr,  Livin' Thing-E.L.O.,  Dazz-Brick, Mademoiselle-Styx,  Rock n' Me-Steve Miller Band,  I Only Want To Be With You-Bay City Rollers, and Stand Tall-Burton Cummings.

I will be spinning all of our favorites from the fifties through the eighties Saturday night between six and midnight.  You might be the winner of some cool stuff!   It looks like our listeners will be converting from outdoor campfires and smores to indoor fireplaces and hot chocolate as the weather becames more November like.  Those Were the Days on WRCO FM 100.9 and WRCO.com is a great place to hang out each Saturday night.   It will be great to hear from you.

Phil
