Saturday night will be wild and crazy again during our Those Were the Days radio party. We will play some of the all time spooky classics. We will ,of course, do the 'Monster Mash', have 'Dinner With Drac', 'Frankestein' may show up, it will be a 'Thriller' of a night! Celebrate Halloween weekend with WRCO FM 100.9 and wrco dot com between six and midnight. I will be wearing my best costume on the radio.
I have many memories of Halloween as a young person. My sister was older than me and she aged out of trick or treating before me. It was scary for me to go up to houses on my own. Sometimes I actually had to go to barns instead of houses because it was milking time! In my high school years, there would often be a Halloween 'record hop' (a high school dance for you young folks). That was my chance to really scare the young ladies when I asked them to dance! The Atlanta Rythm Section had a fine remake of the song 'Spooky' during Halloween season in 1979. That year I was shaking my 'groove thing' at the Ithaca town hall haunted house dance. With my hair slicked back with lard, high water pants, and a 1/2 gallon of Brut aftershave, I was knocking them dead. Thankfully everyone recovered.
I hope you will join the fun Saturday night when we will go back to the best music ever cut into vinyl during our Those Were the Days radio show. You could be the winner of some cool prizes. Maybe you will take home a special collector Those Were the Days t-shirt. Lets have a rock and roll radio party together this weekend!
