Ripon Library Project Back on Track

RIPON, Minn (WRPN) Ripon City Administrator Adam Sonntag says city officials breathed a sigh of relief when they received three bids for the Ripon Library renovation project.

The Common Council recently approved a low-bid of $2.48 million from RJM Construction of Black Creek. That’s right in the neighborhood of estimates for the project.

Sonntag says a nearly $2 million grant from the state for the project hinged on starting construction by July, so when they got no bidders in the first request for proposals it was worrisome.

The grant and donations from a library board fundraising effort will pay for the project. Sonntag says another stipulation of the grant is that the project be completed by September 30 of 2026, which they now have plenty of time to do.
