Oshkosh PD Seeks Information on Dead Dog in Dumpster

OSHKOSH, WI – (WISS) – A dead dog found in a dumpster has prompted an investigation by the Oshkosh Police Department.

According to a press release, a resident found the dead dog in the in the dumpster of a multi-tenant property in the 2100 block of Wisconsin Street on Wednesday afternoon. They describe the dog as medium-sized, black, female. It was found inside of a metal dog kennel. They estimate the dog to have been between 3 and 4 years old. It was severely emaciated. Oshkosh Police are trying to identify the owner of the dog. 

“Animal cruelty and neglect will not be tolerated in our community- these acts are both inhumane and unacceptable,” OPD officials said in a press release. “If individuals find themselves unable to provide proper care for their pets, there are local resources available to assist.”
