The 2025 Boscobel MobilePack for Feed My Starving Children will be held April 10 through 12 at Truvant Building #3 in Boscobel. Public registration for the Boscobel MobilePack will begin February 27. Seven packing shifts are planned again this year, with 100 volunteers needed per shift. Teams are divided into groups of 10, so it’s helpful, but not necessary, to have 10 be your team size. Partners for Prevention Coalition of Richland County will sponsor a Strengthening Families Program for parents and youth ages 10 to 14. The program will run for seven sessions on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 March 12 through 26, and April 9 through 30, at the Richland Center Intermediate School. Participants will learn how to show love while setting limits, how to listen to your child, and how to help family members show appreciation to each other. The Partners for Prevention (P4P) Coalition of Richland County will be holding Community Focus Groups at the Pratt Community Hall on Monday nights, March 3, 10, and 17, from 6:30 to 7:30. These discussions will allow community members to share insights about youth substance use, community concerns, and potential solutions. The feedback gathered will help shape future initiatives and programming. Registration is required by calling 608-647-6131 ext. 1516 by Friday, February 28. Participants will receive a $50 gas card.
A Friends of Blue River Jigsaw Puzzle Competition will be held Friday, February 28, at 7:00 at 201 Clinton Street in Blue River. Doors will open at 6:00. Teams of up to four-members will compete to complete a 500-piece puzzle. Cost is $12 per team. For more information check out Friends of Blue River Facebook page.
The Driftless Writing Center (DWC) will host an in-person reading by novelist Emily Gray Tedrowe Friday, February 28, at 7:00 at The Commons in Viroqua. The free public reading Friday will be followed by a community open mic. Anyone wishing to read during the open mic portion should register in advance by sending an email to
[email protected] with the subject line “Open Mic” and bring a maximum of five minutes of writing to share. Tedrowe will also lead an in-person workshop Saturday, March 1, from 10:00 to Noon at the Vernon County Museum and History Center in Viroqua titled “Page Turner: Building Narrative Momentum in Your Writing.” The limited attendance workshop is open to writers of all levels. Participants should bring a notebook or laptop. The DWC offers sliding scale tuition; scholarships are also available. Bake Shop and Breakfast will be held at First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock Saturday, March 1, from 8:00 to 10:00 . Everyone is welcome.
First Baptist church will host the World Day of Prayer Saturday, March 1, at 9:00.
Lone Rock American Legion and Auxiliary will host its annual Cabin Fever Dance Saturday, March 1, at the Lone Rock Community Building. The day will include Bingo at 11:00, a live auction at 1:00, a Silent Auction Dinner, and the Crossfire Band from 4:00 to 7:00.
A Grief Group will meet Saturday, March 1, from Noon to 1:30 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The day will include lunch and fellowship followed by discussion of topics helpful to processing and coping with grief after the death of a loved one. It is open to anyone who is grieving. Vendors are being sought for the annual Gays Mills Apple Festival Vendors are invited to exhibit and sell their work at the 2025 Apple Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 26, 27 and 28, 2025, along Main Street and the Crawford County Fairgrounds. The Gays Mills Lions Club sponsors two vendor shows at the County Fairgrounds: The Arts and Crafts Show and the Flea Market. The Arts and Crafts Show will be held Saturday and Sunday while the Flea Market will be held all three days. The 40 et 8 will host a pancake breakfast Sunday, March 2, from 7:00 until Noon, or until gone at the American Legion Post 13.
The 13th annual Milk Into Cheese 8-Pin Tap Individual Tournament will be held Sunday, March 2, at the Boscobel Bowl & Banquet. Shift times are at 11:00 and 1:30. cost is $15 per person. Bowlers will receive a free pound of cheese. The day will also feature raffles, a dice game, and door prizes.
Richland County Veterans Memorial Benefit Dance will be held Sunday, March 2, from 1:00 to 5:00 at the Phoenix Center in Richland Center. Music will be provided by Monty Berger and the Country Gold Band. There will also be raffles, a silent auction, and food. Admission is a $10 donation.
