MILWAUKEE, Wis (WAUK) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will have a major closure over the weekend. There’s overnight weekend work planned for westbound I-894 between the Mitchell and Hale Interchanges.
The full directional closure will begin Friday at 11 p.m. and last until Monday at 5:30 a.m. The following weekend will see a similar closure for eastbound I-894.
The project includes about three miles of I-894 and 1.5 miles of Loomis Road in Greenfield. Improvements include resurfacing freeway lanes and ramps, reconstructing the I-894 median and Loomis Road interchange, upgrading drainage systems, guardrails, lighting, and signage, as well as repairing pavement on four local roads and bridges connected to I-894.
This extensive renovation is part of WisDOT’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve Wisconsin’s highway infrastructure.
