The Lone Rock Community Library Summer Reading Program will be held every Thursday, through August 20, from 11:00 until Noon. This summer’s theme of “Unearth a Story” leans into exploration, history and prehistoric fun. Each week will offer a new adventure. The adventure for Thursday, June 18, is “Design‑a‑Dino Lab: Invent a New Species.”

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will be at Ithaca High School the third Thursday of each month beginning at 4:00. Due to activities and traffic at that time, Mobile Pantry guests are not permitted to park near or on school property before 3:30. Park in line until directed to proceed. There are no restrictions, everyone in need is welcome, no matter where you live. No ID or proof of income is required.

Reedsburg Butterfest continues Thursday, June 18, through Sunday, June 21. at Nishan Park in Reedsburg. Thursday will be Family Farm Fun Night and a Kindshi Kids Pedal Pull will be held. On Saturday the Butterfest Parade will step-off at 10:30 in Downtown Reedsburg and new this year there will be a Butterfest 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. The 2026 Butter Run, a Cornhole Tournament and a Pickleball Tournament will be on Sunday. There will also be a Carnival on the Midway, food stands, music and much more during the annual event. The Richland Center Lions is hosting Car Cruise-In and Burgers on Thursday, June 18, from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

Celebrate Recovery -RC meets every Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Nazarene Outreach Center in Richland Center. Food is available starting at 5:30. Celebrate Recovery – Richland Center is sponsored by Grace Community Church.

Walk with GRACE planning committee meetings will be held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 at the GRACE Office above Royal Bank in downtown Richland Center. Team captains or representatives are always welcome.

The Richland School District is offering their free Summer Meal Program for kids again this year. Meal pick-up will be held every Thursday through August 6 at the Richland Center High School. Online forms are no longer available to sign-up. Please reach out to 608-649-HIVE (608-649-4483) to schedule for the next available summer food service pick up. Children do not need to be a Richland Schools student but must be a district resident.

American Legion Auxiliary 13 and their mascots, the mini donkeys Miss Purdy and Nestor, will be making their appearance Friday, June 19 at 10:00 at Sauk County Health Care in Reedsburg. Come on out and meet the donkeys and their crew and get a chance to feed, pet and get donkey hugs. Visit pending weather and military funerals.

The American Red Cross urges donors to give blood or platelets now to help hospitals and transfusion centers stay prepared to help all patients. Upcoming blood drives in the area include two on Friday, June 19, from 11:00 to 5:00 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo and from Noon until 5:00 at the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office in Dodgeville. The Richland Center Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting Kids Night Out on Friday, June 19, from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Richland Center Community Center. Kids enjoy a night of fun, games, movies, and snacks! Some of the recreation programs kids will get the opportunity to experience are Crafty Kids, Gym Games, LEGO Madness, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Cooking for Kiddos, Movie Camp, and much more! Wizards of Rods Fun Run #45 will be held Friday, June 19, through Sunday, June 21 at Warrens Log Cabin & Grounds in Warrens. There will be activities for all ages and a great time for car enthusiasts & families. Friday night there will be a Cruise to a Fish Fry. Saturday is Vintage Fun Day. Activities on Saturday include Flame Throwing Vehicles, a Pin-up Beauty Pageant, Little Miss Wizard Contest, Men’s Beard Contest, a Poker Run, Potluck Dinner, Games, a 50/50 Raffle, Swap & Vendors and more. Sunday will feature a Pedal Car, Stroller, Wagon & Mini Bike Competition, Show Shine Display & Voting and a Silent Auction. There will be a DJ all three days. Break bread with community members at a free community meal each Friday at 5:30 at the Other Door in Viroqua, Vernon County’s Drop In Center.

Soldiers Grove Dairy Days will be held Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, at Soldiers Grove Park. Friday the Southwest Pullers Tractor Pull will be held at 6:00. Saturday an Antique Tractor Pull and a Bean Bag Tournament will be at Noon. A Pedal Pull will begin at 5:00, Crawford County Line Band will perform at 7:00 and a Parade starts at dusk. Saturday will also feature Volleyball and 4-H Kid Activities. There will also be a carnival and Chicken Q, food & beverage sales both days. The Kickapoo Area Food Pantry in Viola is now available to LaFarge residents. Stop in during Pantry hours with proof of address, at the Viola Municipal Building, 106 West Wisconsin Street.  The Pantry is open on the third Saturday and the following Monday of each month. June hours are Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 to 11:00 and Monday June 22, from 4:00 to 6:00. Cellist Mike Block will be performing at the Hillside Theater at Taliesin on Saturday, June 20, from 6:30 until 8:30. Mike Block is a Grammy Award winning multi-style cello player, composer, singer and educator with a passion for cross-cultural collaborations. An admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture since childhood, Block’s performance will include works directly inspired by Fran Lloyd Wright and Taliesin. There will be a Father’s Day Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 21, from Noon until 4:00 at the Harrisburg School & Museum located on Highway B west of Plain.

The Buena Vista Lions Club Car Cruise will be held every Sunday through September 20, from 5:00 to 8:00, at the Buena Vista Bicentennial Park in Gotham. Great cars, great fun and great friends come together. There will also be a concession stand serving food and drinks at the event.

The public is invited to Frank’s Hill to observe the setting sun on the summer solstice. The official start of summer will occur Sunday, June 21, at 3:24 AM, so the first official summer sunset will be that evening. Weather permitting, the Three Eagles Foundation will provide a guided tour of the effigy mound group. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 7:30 PM. to have time to walk around the mounds and should be there by 8:00 PM to enjoy the sunset. Those attending should bring chairs or blankets, insect repellant and their own food and beverages. Also, feel free to bring a telescope or good set of binoculars for stargazing following the sunset and a camera. Directions to Frank’s Hill are as follows: from the north end of the Muscoda bridge at the intersection turn west on Highway 60, drive for two miles and turn north on State Highway 193. Many kids in Southwest Wisconsin depend upon the public-school lunch program for the majority of their meals, so they often go hungry during the summer. The Back Roads Church Summer Food Program serves free meals to children and teenagers 18 years old and under on weekdays from through August 6. Meals will be served at Back Roads Boscobel 11:30 to 12:45, Cozy Acres Mobile Home Park Shelter 11:00 to 11:15, Woodman Park Shelter 11:30 to 11:45 and Bloomington Village Park Noon to 12:30. A reminder to Richland County property taxpayers, July 31 is the final due date for the second installment of the 2025 Real Estate Property Taxes. Taxes are due and payable to the County Treasurer’s Office. The interest rate charged in August will be 7% and interest will increase 1% on the first of each month thereafter. Payments can be made online using the public portal on the Richland County Treasurer’s website. Payments with cash or check can be made in person at the County Treasurer’s Office, dropped in the drop box located outside the courthouse, or mailed to the Richland County Treasurer’s Office along with your tax statement. The ADRC of Eagle Country is looking for parties interested in helping plan a Giving Voices Dementia Friendly Choir. The goal is to create inclusive spaces where singers feel a deep sense of belonging, safety and joy, while also fostering greater understanding and reducing stigma around dementia. Training for facilitating this choir will be given by the Giving Voices Organization. There will also be a search for a choir director and a piano accompanist. The 45th Annual Hillsboro Lions Appreciation Dairy Breakfast will be held Sunday, June 28, from 7:00 until 12:30 at Hillsboro Fireman’s Memorial Park. The breakfast includes pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, donuts, local cheese, milk, coffee and orange juice. There will be Agriculture Awareness Activities & Displays. The Ithaca Lions Club will hold a special Benefit Luncheon for Mike Stafford on Sunday, June 28, from 11:00 until 4:00 at Oakwood Fruit Farm, Richland Center. Enjoy a delicious meal featuring pulled pork or hot ham and cheese sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, and homemade bars. The River Valley Community Gardens still have a few plots available for the 2026 season. 10’x10′ plots rent for $20/season, 10’x20′ plots are $40 and 20′ x 20′ are $60. The fee includes straw mulch, use of the rototiller and other tools, manure/compost, organic fertilizer, water to each plot section with hoses–and friendly, experienced gardeners who are always ready to offer advice or a hand. The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Vernon County offers a free social group for individuals with early-stage dementia. The social group meets on the second and last Mondays of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 at the McIntosh Memorial Library conference room in Viroqua. The social group provides an opportunity to meet other people on a similar journey and share life stories with each other. Spouses, adult children, and friends are encouraged to join the group, too. The screening includes cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as an assessment of blood pressure and discussion of risk factors for heart disease. A $10 donation is requested, but not required. Experience a classic movie in a historic space when Some Like It Hot is shown Monday, July 13, from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Hillside Theater in Spring Green. One of the most beloved films of all time, this sizzling masterpiece by Billy Wilder set a new standard for Hollywood comedy. The movie features Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon whose characters skip town by donning drag and joining an all-female band en route to Miami. The charm of the group’s singer, played by Marilyn Monroe, leads them ever further into extravagant lies. Saturday, July 18

Grow and Gather: Native Companion Planting will be held Saturday, July 18, from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Taliesin Preservation in Spring Green. Learn how to harness the power of companion planting with native plants to create a happier and healthier garden. Kitchen Gardener, Abbie Lehman, will share her experience of companion planting with native plants in the Kitchen Garden at Taliesin. Cost is $35. Internationally published travel and architectural photographer Andrew Pielage will be at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin to to teach the basics of sunset photography hands-on. Spend a weekend photographing Taliesin – Frank Lloyd Wright’s 800-acre estate in Spring Green at a workshop with photographer Andrew Pielage. Learn to look critically at composition, engage in peer photo critiques, and learn about the powerful editing software Adobe Lightroom that will take your photos to the next level. The workshop will be held Friday through Sunday, August 7-9. The program is for those 18 and older. The cost is $1,800 per person plus 6% service fee.
