Wisconsin Women in Conservation (WiWiC) is inviting women landowners, farmers, farm workers, gardeners, and conservation professionals to a summer Learning Circle Potluck and farm/prairie tour at Sweet Springs Farm in Gays Mills on Wednesday, July 2, from 4:00 to 6:30. The event offers an opportunity to connect with fellow women in conservation, tour a diversified organic farm, and learn from Harriet Behar, a longtime conservation advocate and WiWiC Queen Bee Award recipient. The event is free, but pre-registration is required at WiWiC.org. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair, a dish and/or beverage to share, and any questions they may have. The Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board is sponsoring a series of canoe outings on the Wisconsin River through July. The large voyageur replica canoes commissioned by the State of Wisconsin in conjunction with the sesquicentennial in 1998 are used for the trips that explore different segments of the river. A trip is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, from 9:00 to 2:00 from Lone Rock to Gotahm. The Boscobel Fireman’s 2025 July 4th Celebration will be held Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4, at Kronsage Park in Boscobel. This year’s theme is “Proud To Be An American.” The event kicks-off Thursday with Greg Webster, Chellanie & Joe performing from 5:00 until 8:00 and The Cory Farley Band will be on stage from 8:30 until 11:00. The Giant Street Parade steps-off on Wisconsin Avenue at 1:00. Registration for the parade will be held at the Fire Station from 10:00 until Noon. There will be Thunder Showers Bounce Houses from 1:30 until 7:00, the band Countryfied will play from 3:00 until 7:00 and Willy & Hank Kids Fire Training will be at the Tennis Courts from 7:00 until 9:00. The evening will culminate with fireworks at dusk. Burgers, brats, hot dogs, pulled pork and beverages will be sold both days. Absolutely no carry-ins or fireworks are allowed.

The Lone Rock 4th of July Celebration will be Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th at Fireman’s Park in Lone Rock. Thursday evening the “Old Timers” Baseball Game will be at 8:00. Friday morning the Marketplace will open at 7:00. There will be a 5K Water Walk-Run at 8:00 and the Parade will step-off at 11:00. Enjoy an old fashion Fourth of July. The Blackhawk Bethlehem Church & Denzer United Methodist Church will host a celebration Friday, July 4. A parade will be held at 10:30 with a chicken barbecue dinner and slices of pie available for purchase from 11:30 to 2:00. Games such as a three legged race, water balloon toss, sack races and others will begin at 1:00. There will also be food stand novelties and beverages available for purchase. The event will be held at S10174 County Road C in Sauk City.

The Highland Historical Society will be holding a Farmer’s Market Saturday’s, through October, from 8:00 until 11:00 at the Old High School building in Highland. Produce, and various other items, will be available for purchase.
Caz, Cars and Coffee is held the first Saturday of each month from 8:00 until 11:00 on East Main Street in Downtown Cazenovia. Casual meet inviting vehicles of all types and condition. Free coffee provided with a small farmer’s market running as well. Food truck will be on site for June’s event.
The Viroqua Farmers Market will be held each Saturday through October from 8:00 to12:30.

Child Evangelism Fellowship will host Summer Good News Clubs in Hillsboro and Muscoda Monday, July 7, through Thursday, July 10. Summer Good News Clubs are open to all children ages 5 to 12. There is no cost to attend. Children will play games, hear Bible Lessons, sing songs, hear a missionary story, have snacks and discover how to have a relationship with Jesus. The Club in Hillsboro will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 at the Albert Field Memorial Park Lower Shelter. The Club in Muscoda will be at Riverside Park in the Lion’s Shelter from 1:30 to 3:30. Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts will host its 23rd annual Woodlanders Gathering July 10 through 13 in the heart of Mineral Point. Whether a beginner or an experienced craftsperson, the retreat promises an enjoyable, creative time with over 30 nature-based workshops and a community of instructors. Options include rustic furniture, felting and dyeing, mosaic, leatherwork, woodcarving, papermaking, and bookbinding; try your hand at blacksmithing, art with found objects, a community sing, and garden art with milkweed pods. Mornings begin with coffee and treats on the Art Cafe patio, and there are lunches on the Green, and the incredible Woodlanders Silent Auction features rustic arts, nature crafts, books, tools, and more all benefiting Shake Rag Alley’s mission. Woodlanders’ day fees of $115 include a choice of available workshops, lunches on the Green, snacks, and beverages. Half-day registrations for workshops and are only $60. Friday and Saturday dinners are an additional $10 each. The deadline to register for workshops is July 7. In addition to the Saturday Woodlanders schedule, Stay Tuned will be performing at Alley Stage at 6:00. The delivers a varied repertoire of classic country and western swing tunes, featuring interpretations of well-known songs from Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, and other greats. The Vernon County Health Department offers “Wellness Screenings” the second Thursday of the month from 7:30 to 10:30. The screening includes cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as an assessment of blood pressure and discussion of risk factors for heart disease. A $10 donation is requested, but not required. Adult Summer Camp will be held at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center Saturday, July 12, from 2:00 to 7:00. The event will feature summer camp activities and locally-brewed beverages in support of children’s environmental education in southern Wisconsin. For the suggested minimum donation, attendees will receive a reusable cup to fill with beverages of their choice. Campers must be 21 years of age by the event date to register for Adult Summer Camp. Tickets are available for a minimum suggested donation is $60 per ticket.

The Avoca-Blue River-Muscoda Lions Club will hold its Third Annual Ribfest Sunday, July 13, from 11:00 to 2:00, or until sold out, at the Lions Shelter in Victora Riverside Park. The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Vernon County offers a free social group for individuals with early-stage dementia. The social group meets on the second and last Mondays of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 at the McIntosh Memorial Library conference room in Viroqua. The social group provides an opportunity to meet other people on a similar journey and share life stories with each other. Spouses, adult children, and friends are encouraged to join the group, too. July 31, 2025 is the deadline to pay the second half of the 2025 real estate property taxes. There are several payment options available; online, mail, in person, or use the drop box located in the back-parking lot of the courthouse. Payments need to be mailed to the Richland County Treasurer’s Office and not to your municipality. Envelopes postmarked by July 31 will be honored as paid on time. Richland County Senior Dining Meal sites are open to the public for in-person dining. The Woodman Senior Center will serve meals Monday through Friday at 11:45. The Germantown Senior Dining Meal Site, located at St. Anthony’s School (32497 County Highway V, Cazenovia) is open Wednesdays with serving at 11:15. The Rockbridge Meal Site at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (25500 Rockbridge School Street, Richland Center) is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with serving at 11:30. Join internationally published travel and architectural photographer Andrew Pielage Saturday, August 2, from 6:00 to 9:00 at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin to learn the basics of sunset photography hands-on. If you’re the main caregiver of a person living with dementia, you can join Agrace for a new education series, Learning to Live with Dementia. The classes are taught by Agrace staff who have experience caring for people who have dementia. Two classes on what changes to expect will be held.
