Friday, March 16

La Farge United Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale Friday, March 16th and Saturday, March 17th at the church. Friday's hours will run from 9:00-7:00 and Saturday the sale will run from 9:00-2:00. Money raised will go toward the mission trip this summer. There will also be baked items and luncheon options available.

The Richland Middle School will present "A Night of Surprises" on Friday, March 16th at the middle school. The free family event will run from 5:30-8:00 PM and will include games, activities, and a performance by illusionist Ryan Martin at 7:00 PM. There will also be a free pizza dinner from 5:30-6:30 PM. UW-Richland will present it's spring production, Anne of Green Gables, at the Coppertop Theater Friday, March 16th through Sunday, March 18th. Friday and Saturday's performance will be at 7:00 PM and Sunday's performance will be a matinee at 2:00 PM. Performances will also be held March 20th and 22nd at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10. The RMS Irish Dancers will hold a special Irish Social Dance event at the Richland Center Community Center on Friday, March 16th at 7:00 PM. The event will include an Irish dance demonstration, cake walk, snacks and more.

Saturday, March 17

The Richland Center Knights of Columbus will hold bingo on Saturday, March 17th at the Richland Center Community Center at 7:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.

The Brewer Public Library will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 17th with an Irish Dance and Culture Festival at 1:00 PM at the library. Brittany Hying, a local Irish dance instructor, will lead her school of Rince Mo Chrio Irish dancers in a performance of Irish dance and culture.

A Charcoal Expressions fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 17th from 1:00-3:30 PM at the Lone Rock Community Building. Cost to attend the class is $40. Artist Robert Gorder will guide participants step by step in learning how to draw with charcoal. Participants are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the class to register. $20 from each ticket will go to help fund the Lone Rock Splash Pad.

The Avoca St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 1:00 PM. Those participating in the parade are to lineup at the Avoca Village Office by 12:30 PM. Members of the UW Marching Band will be on hand for the parade.

The Boscobel Rescue Squad 13th Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Supper will be served on Saturday, March 17th from 4:00 PM until gone. Cost for a meal is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 For children age 6 through 8th grade and free for kids 5 and under. There will also be basket raffles and a quilt raffles. Money raised will go towards a new ambulance.

The Richland County Performing Arts Council will present Symphony on the Rocks on Saturday, March 17th at the Richland Center City Auditorium. There will be two shows at 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $25 per person or $30 at the door. Tickets for both shows are priced at $45 in advance or $50 at the door. Open garden plots are available to rent at the River Valley Area Community Gardens in Spring Green for the 2018 growing season. River Valley School District residents may rent a plot. Mentoring will be available for beginning gardeners and only organic gardening is permitted. The deadline to register is April 1st. Paper copies are available in Arena at the BP Gas Station, Crappie Shop and Grandma Mary's. In Lone Rock forms are available at Dollar General, Lone Rock Library and Royal Bank. In Plain forms may be picked up at Ederer's, Plain Library, and Straka Meats. Spring Green form locations are located in the Chamber of Commerce office, Spring Green Library and the village hall.

Sunday, March 18

St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus #8946 will serve a pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 18th from 8:00-12:00 at St. Anthony's Parish Hall. Cost for adults is $7, kids 6-12 years old are $3.50 and children 5 and under are free.

A chili chicken noodle soup community meal will be served on Sunday, March 18th from 11:00-2:00 at the Clyde Community Center located between Dodgeville and Lone Rock at the intersection of Hwy 130 and County I. The meal will be all you can eat and carry outs will be available. Homemade pies will be on sale too. Cost for adults is $7, Children age 5-10 are $3, and kids 5 and under are free.

Pine Valley Community Village will present a special concert on Sunday, March 18th at Pine Valley. The Brass in the Pines concert will take place in the Pine Valley Community Room from 2:00-3:00. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information call 647-2138.

The River Valley FFA Alumni is recruiting for its group and will hold a meeting on Sunday, March 18th at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort at 2:00 PM. Anyone interested in joining is invited to attend. Monday, March 19

The Richland Hospital will offer a safe sitter course at the Lone Rock Community Library on Wednesday, March 28th from 8:00-3:00. The one day course will prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Cost for the course is $20. The 6th annual Garden Expo will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 9:00-4:00 at UW-Richland in the Wallace Student Center. Pre-registration may be made by calling 647-6186 ext. 4 or you can pre-register in person by visiting room 428 in Melvill Hall Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00–4:00.

The Riverdale Communities Education Foundation will hold an 8 pin tap bowling tournament fundraiser on Sunday, March 25th at Boscobel Bowl & Banquet. Shifts will be available at 11:30 and 2:00. Cost to bowl three games is $15. There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Pre-registration may be done by calling 375-2200 or 537-2359.

Tuesday, March 20

The Muscoda Chamber of Commerce will meet on Tuesday, March 20th, at 6:30 PM at Sportsmen's Lounge in Muscoda. All active and prospective members of the Muscoda Chamber of Commerce are encouraged to attend.

Riverdale youth softball and baseball sign up forms are now available at the Riverdale Middle School office. Forms must be turned in by March 30th. Wednesday, March 21

The Brewer Public Library will hold Everybody Storytime on Wednesday, March 21st at 10:30 AM at the library. Storytime is for children five and under. There will be stories, songs, activities, and a chance to learn early reading skills.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at the Richland Center Community Center from 11:30-5:30. Appointments may be mad by calling 1-800-733-2767. A lunch will be served with donations made by local businesses.

The Richland Community Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Wednesday, March 14th from 4:00-5:30 at the Lighthouse Chapel..

The Kids Honoring Our Savior group, will meet on Wednesday, March 21st from 6:00-7:15 PM at the Richland Center Free Methodist Church. Children ages four years to sixth grade are invited to attend for singing, games, crafts, snacks and a Bible lesson. The group meets every Wednesday.

The Richland Hospital will offer a breastfeeding class on Wednesday, March 21st and 28th at the hospital from 6:00-9:00 PM both nights.

Park Street Christian Church will present its Easter DVD series on Wednesday, March 21st. The showing is a part of the six week series and will run through Wednesday, March 28th. The showings are held each Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the downstairs fellowship hall of the church.

Schmitt Woodland Hills, in cooperation with area churches, will host a Lenten service at Schmitt Woodland Hills on Wednesday, March 21st in the second floor activity room. The service will start at 7:00 PM. Following the service there will be a time for refreshments.

Weston School District will hold it's Head Start registration on Thursday, March 22nd from 11:30-6:00 in Mrs. Thompson's Pre-K room. Head Start is open to all 3 and 4 year old kids in the Weston School District. To register call 608-986-2151 ext. 201.

A free six week workshop will be held at the Richland Hills Apartments in Richland Center starting Tuesday, April 3rd and ending Tuesday, May 8th. Sessions will be held every Tuesday from 10:00-12:00 and will be open to anyone interested in learning about preventing or treating chronic disease, such as diabetes. Richland Rejuvenates is accepting monetary donations for the upkeep of the hanging flower baskets that are placed on light poles in the city. Volunteers are also being sought to water baskets during the summer. Volunteers operate a four-wheeler utility vehicle with a water supply and long hose to water the flower baskets with. Donations may be sent to Richland Rejuvenates, P.O. Box 651, Richland Center, WI 53581. Those donating are to make note of the donation to the hanging baskets. Saturday, March 24

Photographer Nic Studnicka will offer mini family photo sessions at the Lone Rock Community Building on Saturday, March 24th from 9:00-11:00 AM. Cost for a 5X7 photo is $20. There will also be additional sizes available for purchase at the event. Money raised from the event will help fun the Lone Rock Splash Pad. The Nascar Fans United Walk With Grace Spring Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 9:00-3:00 at the Phoenix Center.

The Brain Cancer Benefit for Alicia Johnston will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 1:00-6:00 PM at the Pitcher's Pub. Cost for brats and hotdogs is $3 and a meal is $6. There will be a dart tournament with a $10 charge to play. There will also be raffles, a silent auction and a bake sale. Money raised will help with the families medical expenses.

The Lone Rock Historical Society and Lone Rock Library will hold a special program on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 PM at the Lone Rock Community Building. Special guest speaker Gary Ilminen will present information from his book "The Unlikely One."

Five Points Lutheran Church will serve a soup supper on Saturday, March 24th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the church. Cost for adults is $8, kids age 6-7 years old are $4 and children 5 and under are free.

Sunday, March 25

The Richland Center Knights of Columbus will serve a pancake breakfast buffet on Sunday, March 25th from 8:30-12:00. The breakfast will be held in the basement of St. Marys Church in Richland Center. Proceeds will support the KC 4th Degree Assembly.

Monday, March 26

The Brewer Public Library will hold a Kids’ STEM Lab on Monday, March 26th at 4:00 PM. Children are invited to learn about zoo animals during the interactive workshop.

The Sauk County Horse Tack and Craft event will be held on May 12th from 9:00-2:00 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds in Baraboo. Proceeds will help with a new barn and stalls.There will be a lunch stand on the grounds. The event is being sponsored by the Sauk county horse project. Cost per table is $20.00. CHIP Classes, a community based lifestyle health intervention program that focuses largely on whole foods, along with other health principles, will continue this spring with classes set to start on Thursday, April 5th at 6:30 PM at the Richland Center Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The Southwest Wisconsin Regional Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at the Phoenix Center from 10:00-2:00. VFW Post 2267 and Richland Area Veterans will hold a military history fair Saturday, March 31st from 10:00-4:00 at Pine Valley Community Village. Talk with Veterans from all eras and conflicts.
