Wednesday, January 17

A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at the Richland Center Community Center on Wednesday, January 17th from 11:30-5:30. To make an appointment call 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

The Brewer Public Library will offer a program, Kids: Invent Anything, on Wednesday, January 17th at 4:00 PM. Youth will explore how circuits work while creating projects with littleBits. Children in 1st grade through 5th grade are welcomed to attend.

Cub Scout Troop 81 will hold a Papa Murphys Share Night on Wednesday, January 17th from 4:00-8:00 PM.

The Richland Community Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Wednesday, January 17th from 4:00-5:30 at the Lighthouse Chapel. The Richland Community Food Pantry is in need of bags for bagging items for recipients. Anyone that can drop off reusable and clean paper bags and recyclable bags of any type are asked to bring them to the Lighthouse chapel anytime after 1:00 PM on Wednesdays.

The SOUL Kitchen will serve a free community meal on Wednesday, January 17th at 5:30 PM at the Nazarene Outreach Center.

The Richland Hospital will hold a breastfeeding class on Wednesday, January 17th and Wednesday, January 24th at the hospital from 6:00-9:00 PM both nights. For more information call the birth center at 647-6321.

Family and friends are organizing a Kevin Kaltenberg memorial 8-pin tap bowling benefit on Saturday, February 10th at the Phoenix Center in Richland Center. There will be three shifts available at 11:30, 2:30 and 5:30. There will also be raffles and a silent auction. Kevin Kaltenberg was killed by a drunk driver near Arena back in October. Thursday, January 18

The Brewer Public Library will hold Martha’s Monthly Makers program on Thursday, January 18th at 2:00 PM. The adult program offers an opportunity to make crafts at the library.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Richland Center Fellowship on Thursday, January 18th. The distribution will begin at 3:30 and run until 5:00. Participants are asked to please not arrive prior to 3:00 PM for the distribution. Participants should note that baskets or other items to mark a spot in line will no longer be allowed. Those in line by 4:00 PM will be guaranteed a full share.

The RCHS Wrestling soup and salad supper fundraiser will be held on Thursday, January 18th from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Richland Center High School in the East Commons. It will be a free will donation. The Wrestling Hall of Honor presentation will begin at 6:30 PM followed by the dual meet with Belmont/Platteville. The 2018 inductees to the Richland Center Wrestling Hall of Fame include Chris Wooley, Bobby Harper and Sean Doudna.

GRACE will hold its 2018 committee and volunteer meeting on Thursday, January 18th from 6:00-7:00 PM at the GRACE office, located above Associated Bank in RIchland Center. The meeting will include discussion on the theme for the 2018 walk, recruitment for open committee chairs, and for the 2018 GRACE ambassadors. Everyone is invited to attend.

American Legion Post 13 will hold a meeting on Thursday, January 18th at 7:30 PM at the Richland Center American Legion. Dinner will be served prior to the meeting at 6:30 PM . All members are encouraged to attend.

The Alliance for Wisconsin Youth will hold a drug impairment training course on January 31st and February 1st at the Richland Hospital. The two day course will provide information on identifying individuals who are chemically impaired. The deadline to register for the training course is Friday, January 26th. To register search Richland DITEP online or call 715-207-9053. The course is free and participants will receive a manual and lunch at the event.

Friday, January 19

The Brewer Public Library will hold Everybody Storytime on Friday, January 19th at 10:30 AM at the library. Storytime is for children five and under. There will be stories, songs, activities, and a chance to learn early reading skills.

The Woman's Relief Corp W. H. Bennett unit 71 will hold a meeting on Friday, January 19th at 11:00 AM. The meeting will take place in the upstairs at the Brewer Public Library. All Woman's Relief Corp members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday, January 20

Viola United Methodist Church will distribute food from the food pantry on Saturday, January 20th from 9:00-11:00 at the church.

The Richland Center Class of 1968 will hold a concession stand at the Richland Center Community Center on Saturday, January 16th from 10:00-2:00 at the bounce house.

The VFW Post 3434 in Hill Point will hold a crock pot soup night on Saturday, January 20th from 4:00-7:00 PM or until gone at the VFW Post 3434 Hall in downtown Hill Point. Cost for adults is $6, and $3 for kids 6-12 years old. Those 5 and under are free

Monday, January 22

The Grant County Agriculture and Extension/Fair Committee will hold a meeting on Monday, January 22nd in the UWEX Conference Room at the Youth and Ag Center in Lancaster.

The Richland Hospital will provide free blood pressure checks on Monday, January 22nd from 12:00-4:00 at the hospital.

The Brewer Public Library will hold a Kids’ STEM Lab on Monday, January 22nd at 4:00 PM. This program is open to youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade and their families who are curious about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Cornerstone Church of Spring Green will be host a free community meal on Monday, January 22nd. The meal will be served from 5:00-7:00 PM and all are welcome to attend. 

Friends of Animals will hold a chili cook-off and bake off on Saturday, February 10th from 1:00-4:00 at the Richland Center American Legion. Tickets are $3 in advance or $4 at the door. There will also be a Chinese Raffle. For more information call David at 604-3362. Entries need to be turned in by January 31st.

A hunters education class will be held starting on February 12th in the Large Group Meeting room at the Richland Center High School. Classes will run from 6:00-8:30 PM from February 12th through 14th and February 19th and 20th. There will also be a field testing day on Saturday, February 17th at 7:00 AM at the Pine River Indoor Range with testing to take place at 10:30 AM. Cost for the class is $10. All students must have a customer ID number prior to the first night of class. Students must pre-register by calling Dale Bender at 604-4947. Spaces are limited.

Tuesday, January 23

The Thrift Shop will hold a board meeting on January 23rd, at 2:00 PM at the shop. The meeting will include an election of officers.

The Brewer Public Library will host a Milk and Cookies Book Club on Tuesday, January 23rd at 4:00 PM. Youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to spend some time with books and friends while enjoying a snack of cookies and milk.

Auditions for Anne of Green Gables, UW-Richland's Spring theater production, will take place on Tuesday, January 23rd and Wednesday, January 24th at 6:30 both nights. Call backs, if needed, will be held on Thursday, January 25th. The show is not the musical version so no singing will be required. All ages are welcome to try out.

The outdoor ice skating rink at Krouskop Park is open for the season. Weekday hours are from 4:00-9:00 PM and weekend hours are from 1:00-9:00 PM.

Wednesday, January 24

Thursday, January 25

Partners of the Richland Hospital will hold a quarterly meeting on Thursday, January 25th at 9:00 AM at the hospital. For more information call Deanna Gochenaur at 647-6321.

Richland County United Givers will hold a meeting on Thursday, January 25th at 5:00 PM in the Pippin Hall of the Richland Hospital. The meeting will include distribution of checks and the election of officers.

The Greater Richland Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a special informational event on Thursday, January 25th at the Phoenix Center Banquet Room at 5:45 PM. Economic Development Specialist Kate Koziol will speak about local efforts to secure new business, funding, and how to start a new business.

Saturday, January 27

The Great Tri-State Rail Sale will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 9:00-3:00 at the La Crosse Center. Cost for adults is $5 and children under 12 are free. The event will include a hobby sale, model railroad flea market and a swap meet. For more information call 608-781-9383.

The Riverdale Communities Education Foundation will hold its Winter Carnival on Saturday, January 27th from 11:00-4:00 at Riverdale Elementary School. Admission is free and children in all area districts are invited to attend.

The Platteville Driftbusters Snowmobile Club will host it's 9th annual Radar Run and Cancer Coalition fundraiser at "The BARn in Platteville on Saturday, January 27th. Registration and racing will start at 11:00 AM. There will be a charity auction, classes for adults and a kids class. There will also be food available. The Muscoda Chamber of Commerce will serve a senior citizens' dinner on Saturday, January 27th at St. John's Gym in Muscoda. Doors will open at 2:00 PM. There will be live music at 4:00 PM and dinner will be served at approximately 5:30 PM. The free event is open to those 60 and over who are residents of the Riverdale School District.

Sunday, January 28

The Richland Center Knights of Columbus will serve a breakfast buffet on Sunday January 28th from 8:30-12:00 in the St. Mary Church basement. There will be a free will offering. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Sandy Reetz Memorial 9-Pin Tap Memorial Tournament will be held on Sunday, January 28th at the Phoenix Center. Cost to bowl is $10. Shifts will be available at 9:45, 12:30, and 3:15. Those interested in bowling can sign up at the Phoenix Center.

Monday, January 29

Saturday, February 10

Feed My Starving Children will hold a pie auction at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel on Saturday, February 10th from 11:00-1:30. There will also be a soup and sandwich lunch at the event. The auction will start at 11:30. Cost for adults is $5, kids 6-11 years old are $3 and children 5 and under are free. For more information call Sandy at 375-5546.

Tuesday, February 13

The Richland Area Crime Stoppers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 13th at 2:00 PM at Associated Bank in Richland Center. They are currently seeking new members. Those interested are encouraged to attend.

Saturday, February 17

The 19th annual Cazenovia Turkey Buster Fisheree on Saturday, February 17th at Lee Lake. The event will include prizes for the kids and adult. All proceeds will help support habitat, school, and community projects. Registration begins at 8:00 AM with all prizes announced at 3:00 at the boat landing shelter in the Cazenovia Memorial Park.
