Sunday, April 23

The Richland Center Archery Club will host a 3-D archery shoot Sunday, April 23rd, from 7:00-3:00. The range is located across from All American Do-It Center on Hwy 14, just follow the signs. There will be a food and beverage stand on the grounds. For more information contact Jim Birch at 475-4963.
The Boaz First Responders will serve a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 23rd, from 8:00-1:00 pm at the Boaz Community Building.
The 2nd Annual Young Artist Concert will be held on Sunday, April 23rd, at 2:00 at the Richland Center Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Students from Richland Center, Ithaca, and Weston will take part in the concert. The event is free and open to the public. Videos of the concert will be available for $10.

Monday, April 24

Local Lions Clubs will host the Wisconsin Lions Club Foundation Trailer for a special used eyeglass collection at Gordy's Market on Monday, April 24th, from 9:00-11:00.

The Richland Hospital will offer free blood pressure checks on Monday, April 24th, from 12:00-4:00.

Weston will hold a Technology Community Night on Tuesday, April 25th, from 4:00-5:00 at the Weston High School in room 222. Those who attend the event will learn how to use technological devices, and have their tech questions answered. There will also be door prizes and snacks. The village of Lone Rock community wide rummage and church sales will be held Thursday, April 27th through Saturday, April 29th. Those interested in participating are asked to call 583-5711. You can also visit Royal Bank in Lone Rock and fill out a form. There is a $5 fee for the ad and to be included on the map. The deadline to sign-up is Monday, April 24th.

Boscobel Christian Women's Fellowship will hold their 36th annual guest night on Saturday, April 29th, from 6:00-8:00 at the Boscobel High School. There will be a meal, a guest speaker, and music. Cost for the meal is $12, and reservations must be made by 12:00 on Monday, April 24th. For more information call 391-0464 or 375-5066.

Hybrid Redneck is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Motorsports Mayhem event on Saturday, May 13th. Those who volunteer will earn $8 an hour that will go to a charity of their choosing. To volunteer call Chad Cosgrove at 604-6369 or visit www.hybridredneck.com.

Tuesday, April 25

The Richland Community Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Tuesday, April 18th, from 4:00-5:30 at the Light House Chapel.

The Richland Hospital Smart Recovery Support Group will meet on Tuesday, April 25th, from 7:00-8:30 The addiction support group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Richland Hospital. No pre-registration is required for the group. For more information call 647-6321.

The Spring Green Lions Club Food Pantry Challenge will run now through Saturday, May 6th. During that time you may drop off food items to be collected for the food pantry. Food items may be dropped off at Grandma Mary's Diner and the elementary school in Arena, Royal Bank and the elementary school in Lone Rock, and Pamela's Fine Jewelry and the village office in Spring Green. Cash gifts will also be accepted and for every dollar donated to the Spring Green Lions Club for the food pantry will be matched by the club up to $1000. Checks are to be made payable to Spring Green Lions Club and note Arena, Lone Rock or Spring Green in the memo.

Wednesday, April 26

The Ocooch Mountain Humane Society will hold their first Animal House Food Stand on Wednesday, April 26th, at 9:30. The little yellow food stand is located in the Richland Center Community Center parking lot. There will be Chicago Dogs, Wisconsin Brats, and Maxwell Street Polish available.

The Weston National Honor Society will co-host a blood drive with the BloodCenter of Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 26th, from 12:00-5:00 in the high school gymnasium. Students who are 16 years of age or older may donate with permission from a parent or guardian. Permission slips are located in the Weston High School office. Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution in Gays Mills on Wednesday, April 26th, at 212 Main Street. Registration will be held at 1:30 and the distribution will run from 2:00-3:00.

Thursday, April 27

The Partners of the Richland Hospital quarterly meeting will be held on Thursday, April 27th, at 9:00. For more information call Deanna Gochenaur at 647-6321.

The Brewer Public Library hosts baby storytime for infants 24 months and under every Thursday morning at 10:30. Those attending will read books, sing, and have the opportunity to meet other area parents.

The Harmonie's Hope JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Team Tractor Ride will take place on Saturday, June 17th, at 9:00. The ride will begin at the Boaz Community Park. Cost per tractor is $25. There will also be wagons available for others to ride on. Cost per adult wagon rider is $20, and $11 per child wagon rider. Each Ticket also includes a meal, but additional meals may be purchased for $10 each. To register or sign-up call 608-604-4240. Tractors and wagons will travel 50 miles from Boaz to Soldiers Grove. There will also be door prizes at the event.

Friday, April 28

The 7th Annual Muscoda Christian Day School Smelt Feed will be held on Friday, April 28th, from 4:00-8:00 at the school. Donations will be accepted at the event. All proceeds will go to the Christian Day School. For more information call 553-2642.

Saturday, April 29

A Home Buyer Education Seminar will be held on Saturday, April 29th, from 8:30-3:00 at the Richland County Extension Office. The event is free and open to the public.

The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will hold a Spring Fling evening on Saturday, April 29th, at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve in La Farge starting at 3:00. Events include interactive hula hooping, poetry readings, a nature walk, and more. There will also be a silent auction. Dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30. The event is free but the cost for a meal is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 years old, and free for children 5 and under. For more information call (608) 625-2339.

A BBQ pork sandwich dinner will be served at Quail Run Golf Links in Richland Center on Saturday, April 29th. The event will help support the RCHS golf team. The dinner will be served from 4:30-7:30. Cost for a meal is $10 and carry outs will be available. Tickets may be purchased at Quail Run, Capital Wealth Advisory Group, Kelly's Coffee or from any member of the golf team.

Sunday, April 30

The Buena Vista Wonder Workers 4-H Club will hold an ice cream social on Sunday, April 30th, from 11:00-1:00 at the Gotham Town Hall. Cost for a meal is $7 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-10 and $1 for children under 5. You can also buy just the dessert for $2 or $3 for dessert, ice cream and a beverage. Carry-outs will be available. Pies will also be on sale at the event.

A chicken and dumpling supper will be served on Sunday, April 30th, from 4:00-8:00 at the Blackhawk United Methodist Church. The church is located on Hwy C between Plain and Sauk City. Cost for adults is $10 and children 10 and under are $5.

Monday, May 1

The second Town Hall meeting to address the rate of substance abuse in Richland County will be held on Monday, May 1st, at the UW-Richland Wallace Student Center. The event will be hosted by the Richland County Children and Advocacy Council. A free dinner will be served at 5:30. The meeting will follow the meal from 6:00-8:00. Everyone is invited to attend.

Richland Center Kiwanis Club and Symons Recreation Complex will hold a special free swim lesson on May 20th. Every Child a Swimmer Day is for kids ages 5-12. Times at 9:00 or 9:45 will be available. Pre-Register for the class by calling 647-8522.

Wednesday, May 3

Viola American Legion Post 447 will host a pancake supper at the Viola American Legion on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 4:30-6:30. Cost for adults $6 and children ages 5-12 are $4.

The Blue River United Methodist Church will serve a free community meal on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 5:00-6:30 at the Blue River Community Building.

Thursday, May 4

The village of Lone Rock will hold a community blood drive on Thursday, May 4th, from 12:00-5:00 at the Lone Rock Community Center. To make an appointment call Alvin at 608-604-3537. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

The Taliesin Preservation Second Annual Tour du Taliesin cycling event will be held on Sunday, May 21st.  Choose from four different route options: 20, 40, 60 and 100 mile routes are available. Friday, May 5

Church Women United will sponsor a May Fellowship Day on Friday, May 5th, at 9:00 at St. Mary's Keysville. The Fellowship of the Least Coin will be taken and all are welcome to attend.

St. Luke Church in Plain will hold a family style fish fry on Friday, May 5th, from 5:00-8:00 at the church. Carry-outs will be available and the church is handicapped accessible. All are welcome to attend. For more information call 546-2482.

Saturday, May 6th

Spring clean up days in the town of Eagle are scheduled for Saturdays, May 6th and May 13th, at the Eagle Town Hall from 8:00-12:00 both days.

Boy Scout Troop 81 will be selling sheep compost at Walsh's Ace in Richland Center on Saturdays May 6th and 13th, from 9:00 until 12:00 or until sold out.

Richland County will hold an electronic recycling collection on Saturday, May 6th, from 9:00-12:00 at the Richland County Fairgrounds. Cost per electronic will vary. Some items being accepted include: televisions, computer equipment, stereos, speakers, lights, heaters, and microwaves. For more information call 647-6859.

The Soldiers Grove Fire Department will hold a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 17th. Registration will start at 8:30 with the run to begin at 9:00 at the park in Soldiers Grove. Cost per person is $20 for those who register before June. Those who register before May 31st will also receive a t-shirt. Cost for registration in June will be $30 per person. Sunday, May 7

The Otter Creek Lutheran Church will serve a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 7th, from 8:00-12:30 at the church. Cost for a meal is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for kids 12 and under. The church is located between Dodgeville and Highland at the intersections of County Roads Q and P.

Tuesday, May 9

The Spring Green Community Church will hold a grief support group on Tuesday, May 9th, from 6:30-8:30 at the Spring Green Community Church. The group meets monthly the second Tuesday of each month.

Friday, May 12

A seminar on Organic Vegetable Production will be held on Friday, May 12th, at 6:00 in room 36 of the River Valley High School. The River Valley Area Community Gardens Inc. will welcome guest speaker, Dr. Erin Silva, from UW-Madison to share principles and practices inherent to organic vegetable production.

Saturday, May 13

The Ithaca/Richland Center Horse Club tack and craft sale will be held on Saturday, May 13th, from 9:00-3:00 at the Ithaca Community Gym. There will be pies and baked goods for sale.

Saturday, May 20

The Weston Booster Club will hold a Trap Shoot on Saturday, May 20th, at 9:00 at the Hillpoint Rod and Gun Club grounds. There will be a merchandise shoot, prizes, and concessions. All proceeds from the event will go to Weston Athletics. For more information call Lori at 983-2859.

Brews and Blues Homebrew Competition will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, from 1:00-5:00 at the Barn Restaurant and Bar in Baraboo. Cost for a ticket is $30. Tickets are available at the Barn, Viney & Viney and Barabrew in Baraboo. Tickets at the door will be $35. All proceeds will go to the Wisconsin Multiple Sclerosis Society.
