On Saturday nights Those Were The Days, I will dig out a few 45's from this weekends Hot 100 survey from 1984 and give them a spin. I was busy during that time posing as 'Super Chore Boy' during the day, and 'Prince Mobile D.J.' at night. Spare time and change was spent at the Music Shop in Richland Center buying all the latest danceable records many of which I transferred to cassette tapes so they wouldn't make the turntable skip while the frenzied dancers were jumping on the wood floor. Top requested songs this week in 1984 included: Jump-Van Halen, Girls Just Want To Have Fun-Cyndi Lauper, Footloose-Kenny Loggins, I Want A New Drug-Huey Lewis, Got A Hold On Me-Christine McVie (my favorite Fleetwood Mac beauty), and Karma Chamleon-Culture Club. Many songs from this weekends '84 chart still get requested today. Join me for requests and trivia for six hours this Saturday night on WRCO FM 100.9. There are people that still think that this show is always pre-recorded and I have to let them know that I am gone only a few Saturday nights during the year. We are proud that we are one of the only radio stations in the state that you can call on Saturday night and actually talk to a person and not a computer! Give me a call Saturday night.
Phil Nee hosts WRCO FM's Those Were the Days every Saturday night from 6-12M. Phil is also heard weekday mornings on WRCO FM 100.9 in Richland Center, WI.
