Hillsboro Firemen's Labor Day Celebration

The Hillsboro community has rallied together so the holiday festivities may still be held this weekend.

After historic flooding officials had felt there was no way the annual Hillsboro Firemen's Labor Day Celebration Fundraiser could be held. When residents heard that it may be canceled, residents came forward to help cleanup the park from flood damage. Thanks to all the community support and volunteer help, the 13+" of flood water that went through the Park building will be cleaned up and ready to roll for this weekend.

After thinking it would be impossible to be ready by Friday officials with the Hillsboro Firemen's Labor Day Celebration had decided to cancel the event this morning (Wednesday) at 10:00. Following the cancellation announcement, the calls "flooded" in showing support and offering help. A few things will not be held however, they include the Fun Run/Walk due to safety concerns, and the Junior Fair. Everything else, including the carnival rides and parade will still be held. Admission to the park is $3 per day, per person.
