Aquatic Center January Update

Pledges of support for a new aquatic center for Richland Center have now grown to more than 1.6 million dollars. The pool ad-hoc committee is very pleased with the response and wants the community to know that there are still many opportunities to take advantage of naming rights at the new center. Major pledges will be accepted over a five, ten, 15 or 20 year time frame subject to the Richland Swimming Complex Committee, Parks Board and City Council approval.

Recent gifts include a $50,000 gift from the People's Community Bank. Panoramic Estates, the Kleinsasser Family, has made a pledge of $30,000. Community First Bank has also stepped forward with a $30,000 dollar gift to support the aquatic center. Wallace Electric of Richland Center has added its support with a $10,000 gift. MPC of Richland Center has provided a $5,000 gift.

Another source of strong support has come from the Amazing Families effort. Amazing Families is a wall that will host a permanent plaque for any family wishing to make a minimum donation of $2500. The $2500 pledge can be spread over five years if desired. The goal of Amazing Families is to have a minimum of 100 families participating.

The new aquatic center will also have a Wall of Farm. The Wall of Farm would be similar to Amazing Families, but would be reserved for farm families and farm related businesses who pledge their support. While there is no specific amount for an entity to pledge, the pool ad-hoc committee hopes to raise $150,000 through the Wall of Farm.

Anyone wanting to donate or to simply learn more, is encouraged to contact Pat Elliott, Dale Bender, Mick Cosgrove, or any member of the pool ad-hoc committee. The committee is stressing that every dollar is very important and every gift makes a difference.
