River Valley and Richland Center School District Notice of Board Election

The Richland School District has announced that an election will be held on Tuesday, April 3. The purpose is to elect persons to serve in the offices representing Areas #1, #3 and #4.

The incumbent in Area #1 is Karee Gander. She represents residents in Henrietta, Orion, Rockbridge, Richland, Buena Vista, Ithaca and Willow Townships. Brady Doudna represents Area #3 which covers the city limits of Richland Center. One Area #4 – At Large Seat being served by Paul Corcoran is also up for re-election. The term of the office for each of these positions in the upcoming election is three years.

In addition, the second office in Area #4 – At Large is to be elected to succeed a seat which was vacated by a resignation of a school board member. That term is currently being filled by Grant Worthington who was appointed to fill the vacancy. The person voted to fill this position will serve a two year term.

Four seats will be up for election on the River Valley School Board. Each term of office will be for three years beginning, except for the board member representing Area #3 which is a one year unexpired term. Area #3 is currently represented by Julie Case and represents all of the Town of Clyde. The three remaining seats are for Area #5, #7 and #8, represented by Mark Strozinsky, Frederic Lausly, and Dick Cates respectively.

Area #5 represents the Town of Bear Creek in Sauk County and all of the portion of Richland County in the River Valley School District except the Village of Lone Rock. Area #7 covers the portion of Sauk County in the River Valley District except the Villages of Plain, Spring Green, and the Town of Bear Creek. Area #8 includes all of the Town of Dodgeville and the Town of Wyoming included in the school district.

Each person elected in April will begin their term of office on Monday, April 23rd. Those interested in running for one of these positions on the Richland School District or River Valley School District must submit a campaign registration statement and declaration of candidacy. Statements and declarations are due to the respective school district clerk no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2.

If necessary, a primary will be held on Tuesday, February 20.
