Milk Into Cheese 2017

The annual Milk Into Cheese drive is making a final push. Milk into Cheese is accepting donations to supply local food pantries with locally produced cheese.

Any dairy farm family that would like to donate milk to the 18th annual Milk Into Cheese Drive should make arrangements by Monday, August 28th, to allow enough time to organize pick-up routes. Any family or business that would like to make a financial donation to purchase milk to be processed into cheese for the area food pantries can do so at any time, but the major plea for donations is now. This year's price to turn 1,000 pounds of milk into 100 pounds of cheese is $160, however, contributions in any amount will be accepted and gladly appreciated. Those who contribute to Milk Into Cheese will have their donation go to their local food pantry.

To donate milk for the 2017 Milk Into Cheese effort contact Ed Chitwood at 537-2340. Those interested in donating cash can send a check made payable to “Milk into Cheese” care of: Ed Chitwood; 16025 Eddy's Lane; Blue River 53518. There are no administrative, labor or material costs. All milk and money donated go directly to the cause and are tax deductible. So far 2,000 pounds of the 20,000 pound goal has been donated.
