Red Cross Community Heroes

The American Red Cross of Southwest Wisconsin is seeking nominations for “2017 Evening of Heroes” award recipients.

Each year, the American Red Cross recognizes everyday heroes in Southwest Wisconsin nominated by their fellow community members. The nomination process is open until December 31st. Whether they’re stepping up during a medical emergency to provide assistance or helping others through a lifetime of volunteerism, heroes reflect what is best about our community. They also inspire others to follow their example.

Hero nominations are accepted in eight categories: Adult Good Samaritan; Youth Good Samaritan age 18 or younger; Community Hero; From the Heart Hero; Hero of a Lifetime; Military Hero; Emergency Response Hero; and Corporate Hero. A full description of each category as well as a nomination form is available on the Red Cross website.

Nominees may come from any of the Southwest Wisconsin Chapter’s 17 counties – including those in the WRCO listening area. Selected heroes will be honored at the “Evening of Heroes” celebration on Saturday, February 18th at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells.
