North Crawford Community Education Foundation Established
A new foundation has been established to support school excellence and to support scholarships in the North Crawford School District.
A A 10-person advisory board has been formed for the North Crawford Community Education Foundation. Endowments to the foundation are considered to be “for good, for ever” as only the earnings are available to spend. Those annual earnings would be used to fund grants proposed by those in the school that distinguish and improve the quality and position of the school and its programs. Funds would also be used to fund post-secondary school scholarships for North Crawford graduates.
While the North Crawford Community Education Foundation is being established to support the school and its students, it should be noted that it is separate from the school, school administration and the school board. The advisory board operates independent of the school district and is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.
Two endowments have been established. The first is the “Excellence in Education Endowment”, which will provide grants for innovative projects and programs within the school. The other – the “North Crawford Scholarship Endowment” – will provide scholarships to students pursuing post-secondary education. During the current school year, the advisory board is welcoming “charter donors” to these funds. A charter donor donates or pledges a minimum of $1,000 to the Foundation with pledges payable for up to a 3-year period.
The initiative is being supported by the North Crawford School District. Additional information – including opportunities to give – can be found on the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin website, and simply searching for North Crawford.
