Richland Center Halloween Pumpkin Carving Event
In just two weeks, the City of Richland Center will be a sort of “Pumpkin Central”!
That's because the community will be in the throws of attempting to break a Guinness World Record
for “the most pumpkins carved in a line or chain”. Sunday, October 30th is the day that the Guinness judge will be in Richland Center. Prior to that, volunteer pumpkin carvers will be needed in the days leading up to judgment. Carving will take place at the Richland Center Community Center Wednesday, October 26th through Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Large groups are encouraged to call ahead so organizers can have a station ready. There is also a need for supervisors for each of the pumpkin carving stations. For more information or to volunteer, contact Jodi Mieden at the Richland Center Community Center at (608) 647-8108, extension 1.
The lining up of pumpkins will begin on Saturday, October 29th. Volunteers are also needed for that effort. Judgment day will be on Sunday, October 30th, with the Guinness official arriving via helicopter at 2:00. If the effort is successful, it's figured the acknowledgment of the record being broken will be at around 4:00. The Halloween activities will continue through the holiday itself on the 31st. Richland Center's community trick-or-treating will be that Monday night, October 31st, from 5:00 until 7:30. A costume contest, children's games, and more will follow at the Richland Center Community Center. Additional information about all of that week's events can be found on the Facebook page “Richland Center Guinness World Record Pumpkin Event”. Again, if you'd like to help out in any way or to get more information, contact Jodi at the Richland Center Community Center at (608) 647-8108, extension 1.
