2016 Richland Center Kiwanis Club Coats for Kids

The Richland Center Kiwanis Club has announced the start of its annual “Coats for Kids” Community Coat Drive.

This year marks the 6th year the local Kiwanis Club has collected and distributed coats to area children in need. Each year, the effort has grown. Last year, nearly 200 coats were distributed – all just in time for the cold winter season.

The Kiwanis Club has worked with a number of partners to grow this project the last several years. This year, the club will again partner with an area business and a local church for an effort that will lead up to a coats distribution night on Thursday, November 3rd.

The Nazarene Church Outreach Center will again serve as the site of this year’s coats distribution. The distribution night on November 3rd is the only night that coats will be handed out. Families wishing to receive coats for their children are encouraged to make note of the date and distribution time – Thursday, November 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Nazarene Church Outreach Center. The Outreach Center is located on South Main Street in Richland Center across from Family Dollar.

Also again this year, Sheila Troxel and Deb Fontana of Wallace, Cooper and Elliott has pledged their support of the “Coats” effort with a coat-for-coat match. For every coat that is dropped off at Wallace, Cooper, and Elliott, the ladies will purchase and donate a new coat to the Kiwanis “Coats for Kids” effort. For this reason, Wallace, Cooper and Elliott has offered to serve as the collection point for this year’s coats drive. All coats donated to the drive can be dropped off at Wallace, Cooper and Elliott between now and October 28th.

If you have a child in need of a coat, please mark your calendar and come to the Coats for Kids distribution on Thursday night, November 3rd at the Nazarene Church Outreach Center.
