UW-Richland High School Art Exhibit 2016 Awards
The Richland Regional High School Art Exhibit recently held its closing celebration and luncheon at the Wallace Center on the UW-Richland campus.
Regional Dean Dr. Charles Clark, Executive Secretary of the Campus Foundation Darlo Wentz, and president of the Richland Area Arts Council Shirley Steiner spoke to the audience of about 65 students, parents, and art teachers. Judge Dick Woppert, professional artist and former art teacher, announced his selections of the six winners of “Best of Show”.
This year's “Best of Show” honorees were Madeline Ouimet of River Valley with a pencil drawing entitled “My Decade”; Dodgeville's Grace McGuire with a pencil work called “A Lone Seating Arrangement”; Abby Rothering of Weston High School with a charcoal work entitled “Hello”; Tamber Teed of Hillsboro with and Tempera piece called “Cruella”; Richland Center High School's Taylor Rae Nelson's mixed medial creation called “A Walk With Generations”; and Isaiah Snyder of Riverdale with a colored pencil piece entitled “Work Hard, Play Harder”.
Each of the winning works will be displayed at the Red Door Gallery in Richland Center through next week. Each will then be submitted into the Wisconsin Regional Arts Association “Statewide Teen Art Mentor Program” exhibit this summer.
