Orbitz Most Charming Small Wisconsin Towns

A well known travel website has listed a trio of southwest Wisconsin communities among its six “Most Charming Small Towns” in Wisconsin.

Orbitz Travel said that some of Wisconsin's most charming hamlets offer more than the beer, brats, and cheese the state is known for. It said if you travel off the main highway's you will find intriguing small-scale art scenes, incredible farm-to-table dining, entertaining oddball festivals and beautiful encounters with nature.

The communities listed by the publication include Mineral Point, Viroqua, and Spring Green in this area. Mineral Point was cited for its thriving artists’ colony as well as its historic downtown and opera house. Viroqua was noted for being the base of the Driftless Area and featuring restaurants focusing on fresh and local foods. Finally, Spring Green was acknowledged for more than just its ties to Frank Lloyd Wright. The community was noted for being home to American Players Theatre, House on the Rock, and beer-battered fish at Arthur’s Supper Club.

Orbitz Travel also listed Trempealeau, Bayfield, Washington Island among Wisconsin's Most Charming Small Towns.
