Richland Center Foundry Response Update

The Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board will be holding a Rapid Response session for laid off workers from the foundry at the Richland Community Center (1050 North Orange Street) this Thursday (December 17). Various representatives will be available with Information providing help to those workers affected.

Local service groups which will be in attendance at the Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board's Rapid Response Session include: the Richland County Veterans Service Officer; Richland County Aging & Disability; Richland County Social Services, which offers rent and heat assistance; the Richland School District with information about the free and reduced lunch program; Richland Community Food Pantry; and Pastor Erik Anderson from the Richland Center Free Methodist Church. Local employers include: Vetesnik Power Sports and Seats, Inc. Some food distributors have also stepped up to offer assistance, they include: ET Foods which is donating hams and potatoes; and Alcam is donating butter. An account for cash donations is also being set up to assist employees who recently lost their jobs at the Richland Center Foundry through Richland County Social Services.

A Foundry Fund Account has been set up. Checks or cash may be dropped off to Paul at Richland Family Prescription Center, the Mayor's Office, or mailed to the Mayor's Office. Checks are to be made payable to Richland County Health and Human Services. Receipts will be given to those donating.

All employees affected by the shut down of the Richland Center Foundry, regardless of position, are encouraged to attend this Rapid Response Session. The different programs and agencies will have material on hand and will be able to answer questions and explain opportunities for those in attendance. All attendees need to bring is a pen or pencil.
