Tom Crofton Announces 50th Assembly Bid

Richland County's Tom Crofton has announced his bid for the Democratic nomination for the Wisconsin State Assembly in District 50.

The seat is currently held by Republican Ed Brooks. In making his announcement, Crofton said in his six years as a Richland County Board Supervisor, he has “become tired of facing the financial dilemmas imposed on the County from higher levels of government, and I want to help shape a more effective State government that serves rural areas better”.

Crofton said he wants to engage voters in real discussions about what services they want and how to pay for them. He also said we need to keep our tax dollars home, recycling though our local economy instead of exporting them for things we can supply ourselves.

In addition to serving on the county board, Tom Crofton is a retired carpenter and small rotational grazer. He said he will be hosting a series of Brunches in the Park next spring where he hopes to meet residents in the 50th Assembly District and hear their thoughts on how Wisconsin can become a more prosperous state.
