Richland Center Foundry Closing Rapid Response Program
Local and state officials have begun the process of assisting affected employees at the Richland Center Foundry.
It was announced earlier that the facility had closed unexpectedly as of Monday, leaving 74 people out of work. This morning, Thursday December 10, the Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board announced that it will be holding a Rapid Response session for laid off workers from the foundry at the Richland Community Center (1050 North Orange Street) on Thursday, December 17th at 10:00 AM. Information will be available relating to Unemployment Insurance and other benefits, programs, and retraining options. Representatives from Job Service, Southwest Tech, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran Employment Representative, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Dislocated Worker program will be available to answer questions and explain opportunities for those who attend.
